How to get the most out of SetWise
SetWise works best when you log consistently and review your progress with intent.
1
Use Templates for consistency
If you follow a split, build a Program and train from Days (Templates). This makes comparisons meaningful (Upper A vs Upper A).
2
Start fast with “Last”
During workouts, SetWise pre-fills values based on your previous session. Use Last as your baseline, then adjust up/down.
3
Keep notes short (but useful)
Add quick notes for context:
- pain / discomfort
- technique cues
- machine setup
This makes your next session smarter.
4
Use Quick Start when you need flexibility
No plan today? Use Quick Start and build the session as you go. You can still track everything and review it in Progress.
5
Review Progress weekly
Use the Progress screen to:
- open past workouts
- review set-by-set details
- check volume trends and Exercise Explorer
Tips
- •Consistency beats perfection. A clean log and a quick weekly review is enough to see progress over time.
- •Only count progress if the quality stays the same.
- •Keep your form, ROM, and tempo consistent - adding reps/weight by shortening range of motion or changing tempo isn’t real progressive overload (you changed the conditions).
